• Imperialism in China (Russian, Japan, England, France split the country up)
• Boxer Rebellion
• Japanese invasion of Manchuria and the Western response
• Having Taiwan occupy the Chinese seat in the UN till 1971
  
• Bombing of the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia
