Old Fashioned Teaching = Super High Scores?

Indian High School in Oakland has an API score of 967. There are only 3 schools in California with higher scores. My daughter's school has an API of 853. And Oakland is not the richest city in California.

The school uses a back to basics approach and tolerates no class room distractions and discipline issues. Contrast this with the class room described in How I Joined Teach for America—and Got Sued for $20 Million.
