China carmaker takes a big step with Volvo deal - LA Times.

A Chinese carmaker, Geely, is going to buy Volvo. Hummer fell through since it was not the right image for China.

I would compare this to IBM selling their computer division to Lenovo, with their famous ThinkPad brand.
