I did not realize the Spanish at one time controlled part of Taiwan. I knew about the Dutch. I also did not realize the Dutch were the ones who encouraged immigration from Fujian.

Taiwan has
4 different ethnic groups, but there has been a lot of inter-marriage.
- Fujian - 70%
- aborigine - 2%
- Hakka - 15%
- 49's - 13%
