Chinese families sue for WW2 Compensation

The people suing also include the descendants, and they are going after Japanese companies.

I am curious if German companies had to go through the same process. After a lot of searching, I found these saying a fund was set up of a coupon of billion dollars starting in 1998:

The major difference is the German compensation did not include descendants. Since it's 16 years later, there amount of victims from WW 2 that are still alive has been reduced substantially.
