China's Image Challenge

Worrisome article - The Ugly Chinese from the Washington Post. It mentions the protests in South Korea and other recent activity that has damaged China's image. The posts are very interesting and are a good example of the problem. Olympic flame shines on one Chinese woman and burns another from the LA Times. And from the Economist Angry China
with this excellent sub-heading - The recent glimpses of a snarling China should scare the country's government as much as the world. A quote from the article - Herein lies the danger for the government. Popular anger, once roused, can easily switch targets.

This I find hopeful.
