I just got a credit card with a rf emitting chip on it. So I did a bit of Googling, since I was worried on the security risk. Anyway, a good article that discusses some of the risk.

It seems the solution seems to be get some type of metal around your credit card. This can be in a metal bill fold, or in a slip of paper with metal inside of it you buy. My complaint is they are so expensive!
Another solution is 3 seconds in your microwave, but if you do it too long, you will burn your CC. Sounds nice in theory.
And your US passport also has the RFID chip.
