Jeep Made in China?

Chrysler is thinking about moving ALL jeep production to China.

Wow! And Stupid! Even considering the idea shows a lack of understanding of the Jeep brand. The emotional promise of buying a Jeep, verses a Toyota Land Cruiser or a Nissan Pathfinder.

That would be like moving production of the Corvette to China.

Ray, please take a look at the following blog from Chrysler's website (including the link to Chrysler Chairman & CEO Sergio Marchionne's statement).

According to the Chrysler blog, Fiat SpA -- majority owner of Chrysler Group -- is not moving Jeep production from the U.S. to China. Rather, production of Jeeps in China is going to be reactivated to meet demand for Jeeps in the Chinese market.

The Washington Examiner link you posted seems to have misunderstood the Oct. 22 Bloomberg article by Craig Trudell. Whether their "misunderstanding" was deliberate is anyone's guess.
