Honolulu Chinatown

I did not go the Honolulu Chinatown while I HI. The story started with a bakery owner. For some reason at night, many Chinatowns are not the safest areas I have noticed. What Little Tokyo did in Los Angeles was hire their own security force, and establish neighborhood patrols after the LA Riots. At night I am willing to go to Little Tokyo, where with the LA Chinatown I am less willing.

The Chinatowns of Portland and Vancouver are not too safe either, with the homeless druggies out in force. L.A.'s Chinatown is quite close to county and federal prisons and low-income neighborhoods.

Los Angeles's Chinatown does have its own rent-a-cops (wearing red shirts and on bicycle and vehicle patrol) and is contracted with a private security firm.

Thanks, I did not realize the LA Chinatown had its own security force. I have seen the Little Tokyo ones, but not the Chinatown ones yet. In the garment district I see some type of private group in yellow shirts that keeps the area cleaner.
